In the demo released on May 8, 2026, the Mountains area is strictly a preview. Players can hit ore deposits with basic tools or automated crushers, but the gathered materials do not advance research counters or unlock recipes until the full version.

How can you fix the inverted mouse controls in the demo?
The public demo links vertical and horizontal axis inversions into a single toggle, which prevents players from inverting only vertical movement. Studio Ashty noted this problem on the discussion board and confirmed that version 1.0 separates mouse look adjustments into dedicated horizontal and vertical switches. No internal fix exists for the old demo build.

Nightwater lists Windows 10 and 11 as supported operating systems and lacks a native Linux client. Community testing on Fedora confirms that running the game via Steam Proton Experimental launches the demo without crashes. Do you lose building materials when dismantling machines or pipes?
